Petzl ASAP - Compact mobile fall arrester for rope
An essential component in your fall protection system, rely on the ASAP for everyday work at height applications. During normal use when moving along the rope, the device trails freely without the need for manual operation. In the event of a fall or uncontrolled descent (exceeding two meters per second), the device blocks the rope and stops the user. The ASAP can be used as a primary belay device in a fall-arrest system or as a back-up belay in a rope access system
Mobile fall arrester for rope:
- Stops falls and uncontrolled descents that exceed two meters per second
- Blocks on the rope, even if grabbed during the fall
- Works on vertical, horizontal, or angled rope
- Compatible with ropes 10 to 13 mm in diameter
- Toothed wheel is effective on a variety of rope conditions, such as frozen or dirty ropes
Compact and easy to use:

- Moves up or down the rope without any manual operation
Use in combination with:
- ASAP’SORBER 20 or 40 energy absorber, for use with a person weighing up to 140 kg
- ASAP’SORBER AXESS energy absorber, for use in two-person rescue scenarios, up to 250 kg
